At The Hyde School, we believe that regular attendance is essential for your child’s learning, wellbeing, and future opportunities. We aim for a minimum attendance target of 96%, and we monitor attendance closely to support pupils and families in achieving this.
Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring their child attends school every day, on time, and for contacting the school on the first day of absence. Children should only stay home if they are unwell or have a valid reason, following NHS guidance. Persistent absence or repeated lateness is taken seriously and may lead to support plans, attendance contracts, or, in some cases, intervention by the Local Authority.
The Hyde School celebrates good attendance through weekly awards and recognises punctuality as an important life skill. Our staff work closely with families to support any barriers to attendance, ensuring every child feels valued, safe, and motivated to come to school.
