Pupil Premium

At The Hyde School, we are committed to ensuring all disadvantaged pupils achieve their full potential—academically, socially, and personally. Our Pupil Premium funding is used to remove barriers to learning, provide targeted support, and create opportunities so that every child can succeed.

Our approach includes:

  • High-quality teaching: Ensuring every class has effective teachers through training, mentoring, and professional development.

  • Targeted academic support: Tailored interventions, small group sessions, and one-to-one tuition to accelerate learning, particularly in reading, writing, and maths.

  • Wider strategies: Supporting attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing, as well as enriching experiences such as clubs, trips, and special projects.

  • Early intervention and personalised support: Identifying needs promptly and providing evidence-informed strategies to help each pupil thrive.

We closely monitor progress and adapt support to meet each child’s needs. Our aim is for disadvantaged pupils to achieve high outcomes, develop confidence and resilience, and leave The Hyde School as confident, kind, and respectful young people.

In recent years, disadvantaged pupils at The Hyde School have made strong progress, often performing at or above national averages. Our continued focus is on sustaining high attainment, improving writing outcomes, supporting attendance, and ensuring timely access to pastoral and enrichment opportunities.
