If your child was born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015, you will need to apply for their transfer to secondary school in September in 2026.

Key dates 

• 1 September 2025 - start date for applications

• 31 October 2025 - deadline for on-time applications

• 8 December 2025 - deadline for late applications with good reason to be accepted as if received on time

• 2 March 2026 - Secondary National Offer Day 

• 13 March 2026 - deadline for late applications to be considered for the second round of offers

• 16 March 2026 - deadline for response to first round offers made on 3 March

• 23 - 27 March 2026 - second round offers

• 30 March onward  - further offers as and when places become available

Late Applications

The closing date for applications has now passed.

Late applications will only be considered after places have been allocated to those who applied on time. Late applicants will not receive an offer on Secondary National Offer Day (2 March 2026). Offers for late applications will be issued during the week beginning 23 March 2026.
