 Welcome to The Hyde School!

The Hyde is a vibrant and inclusive welcoming school, with an extremely diverse community. Our families come from all over the world, speaking over fifty languages, and we are richer for it. We are a Flagship School for Inclusion, and a significant proportion of our children have additional needs. At The Hyde every child is seen, celebrated and valued for who they are - every single one is supported and encouraged to be the best they can be.

Relationships underpin all our efforts here at The Hyde. Our amazing staff work hard to build links with pupils and families, enabling us to work together to support all our children to achieve. Our Urban Adventure curriculum offers children “mirrors and windows” - it allows them to see themselves reflected in their learning, but also to raise their aspirations and open their eyes to the wider world. We do this by using in school experiences and an extensive range of trips so that the children have practical experiences from which their learning develops. Our unique Saturday Project offers an extension of this approach.

We want all our children (and staff) to aim high - we value academic success, but we also encourage our children to become artists, musicians, scientists, engineers, athletes …. British Values (or as we often refer to them, human values) are embedded within our curriculum and school ethos. We foster confidence, self belief and the ability to self advocate, right from the youngest children through to Year 6. Our children are encouraged to speak up and share their views and opinions, and they have a genuine voice within the school. We want our children to leave The Hyde as confident, kind and respectful young people, with a sense of their own worth, and the resilience to cope with whatever the world has in store for them.

At The Hyde we are constantly looking at ways of improving further, and ensuring that our children are getting the best deal possible. Feedback from current parents and pupils is overwhelmingly positive. If you want a taster of our school, please have a look at the video below. At The Hyde we do our best to make sure every child has the best primary school experience possible - why not come and see for yourself?
